I offer two options for listening to music released on Oddball Musicworks, each one with it's own pro's and con's. But before you listen to anything, please click on the important button to your left.

If you have a fast enough connection (dsl or cable), you can stream these files in either format and listen to them immediately. If your connection is slower, you can download them by right - clicking on the link and choosing save.

Please note that in order to listen to either of these formats, you must have the appropriate player. Click on the names of each format to download a free player.

Option one is windows media format. For the best quality at the smallest download size, this is the one. I have grown to like this format, it sounds pretty good, and it streams well. This is what microsoft does best - come out with a really good product in it's early stages of development, crush the competition by giving it away free, and then making it "better", by bloating it's buggy code with ever more useless "features".

OK, here's how this works. If you like what I'm doing, buying my stuff will allow me to keep doing it.

For a long time I resisted putting my stuff on the web in unprotected formats. Why? Well, I spent my whole life learning how to do what I do. My music, whether I wrote it, or someone else wrote it and I produced it, is really important to me. I have this crazy notion that I should be paid for what I contribute to the world.

Now, I've decided to go ahead and put it up. I want to reach more people. I'm accepting that copyright is an evolving concept.

Option two is mp3 format. Any player will work. Next to the actual cd, (which definitely sounds better) this is the best quality. Download size is bigger than windows media format. I had a problem with putting my music in this format for a long time. First of all, I spent my whole life trying to make my recordings sound the best I possibly could. Now I'm supposed to make it sound shitty ? However, I do feel that downloading uncompressed audio is unreasonable at this point in time, so here it is.

But if you like my music and just download the mp3's for free, I'll have to get a day job. Then I won't have as much time to experiment and create new stuff. And because I won't have as much time to work, I'll be in a very bad mood. And in my bitter and pissed off state, I probably won't feel like sharing my stuff with you for free. And I'm quite sure that many other artists feel the same way.

So please, if you like the music, here or anywhere else for that matter, buy the cd's and tell your friends about it. If I develop enough fans in any one place, who knows, maybe I'll perform in your area and we can meet. Then we'll all be happy. Not pissed off.
